About
I like understanding how things work, taking them apart, and figuring out how they could work better.
I'm Thomas. I'm an engineer by training, with a background in Urbanism and Industrial Design.
I've always been interested in how things fit together. Systems, objects, organisations, cities, businesses. I'll happily pull something apart just to understand why it works the way it does.
That curiosity eventually found its way into data and digital tools. Data is particularly interesting because it lets you look underneath the surface. You can see patterns, test assumptions, find vulnerabilities and discover things that aren't immediately obvious.
But I also like design. Not just making things look good, but thinking about what something should be, why it should work, and how people will actually use it.
That kind of conceptual design is surprisingly close to business modelling. Understand the world around you, spot an opportunity, and figure out how you could build something around it that actually works.
Why nonoise?
As a curious person, driven to understand how things work, I like to get close to the problem. I want to understand what is really going on, and what would make it better. That means asking questions, looking at the details, and being willing to rethink the obvious answer.
In that process, I like to focus on what actually matters. Cut through the crap. Strip away the unnecessary. Get to the point.
I'm quite happy to question things, challenge assumptions and speak up when I think something could be better. Not because I always have the right answer, but because not questioning it is rarely going to make it better.
For me, that's about cutting through the noise. Removing the unnecessary, finding what actually matters, and focusing on what is useful.
nonoise no nonsense.
